Moving to a new country, anew city, even for a short a time can be intimidating and nerve wracking. Budapest, as the capital city of Hungary offers many opportunities for students in its twenty-three districts – some closer to our faculty, some quite far off the radar.

ELTE offers different options to its international students depending on their preferences.

STUDENT RESIDENCE HALLS

The university currently owns eight dormitories around the city. In these international students live together with Hungarian students in shared rooms. Each dormitory has different facilities or different prices. Please see their detailed information down below:

Some dormitories are popular among ELTE students because there is an active student life there, while others are favoured by ELTE students because their quietness ensures that students can focus on their studies.

Staying in a dormitory for a semester has many advantages. It is a perfect place to meet fellow students and to make new friends. You can always get useful tips from them about the university and the city.

Please note that moving into a dormitory as an Erasmus student is not as easy as most places are saved for those international students who are going to do a complete degree programme here and will need a place to live for three to four years. BUT, it is not impossible therefore we encourage every students to try it, if they wish to live in one of them.

You can find the application process on the following WEBSITE.
