Main professional activities

Teaching activities:

The realization of courses in

• graduate trainings for future pre-school and primary school teachers
• accredited special and continued, professional trainings

The main subjects taught in the department’s graduate trainings include Music and Singing as well as their connected pedagogy and teaching methodology; Singing and the Theory of Solfège; Subject Pedagogy of Singing; Conduction and Choir Voice Training; Musical Literature; Playing Musical Instruments.

Practical training and the support of professional musical activities play an essential role in the educational activity conducted by the department.
 

Research activities:

Main fields:

• Opportunities for the methodological development of pre-school teachers’ training
• Research regarding musical education in primary schools; the analysis and development of student’s books
   

Additional activities:

• active participation in the development of curricula for public and higher education, including the elaboration of musical programmes
• active participation in national and international application programmes;
• Socrates Comenius and Erasmus programmes
• HEFOP: The development of the content and structure of teachers’ training
• grants for the organization of national and international events
• active participation in the realization of various conferences and professional events; regular publication of academic research results; student’s books
• active participation in the Faculty’s cultural events (concerts, singing and music competitions, choir performances; the performances of the ensemble of Music Theatre)
• active participation in the management of students’ musical and academic activities
