The personal and professional beliefs, motivation and ideas teachers and teacher candidates possess concerning their careers play an important role in their professional development. This research project focuses on the career motivation displayed by entry-level teacher candidates by exploring their previous experiences and examining their beliefs using qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches. The long-term research goal is to study the effect teacher-training has on motivation, role interpretation, attitudes and knowledge of specific areas. This research includes all three BA programs: early childhood educators, primary and pre-school teachers.
