Main research areas
Contemporary music
My research focuses on contemporary music, with a primary emphasis on contemporary vocal music. The techniques employed in 20th-century compositions (serialism, directed and free aleatoricism, spectralism, micropolyphony, minimalism, post-minimalism) have fundamentally transformed the literature of vocal music, creating a web of diverse trends and offering the illusion of infinite possibilities for 21st-century composers. Understanding these changes and the characteristics and usage of contemporary vocal composition techniques brings us closer to comprehending and appreciating today’s works of art.
