The focus of my research is to investigate effective methods of teaching and learning.

In particular, I focus on how to make the learning process of mathematics effective in order to provide long-term knowledge that can be transferred to other fields. My research supports students' long-term mathematical learning from several perspectives. I investigate the conditions for student engagement and provide teachers with methods to stimulate the interest of newer and newer generations of students.

My main research areas are investigating the effect of retrieval practice, developing through board games, gamification, problem posing, geometric reasoning, bridging knowledge gaps, reducing drop-outs, and developing spatial skills.

My research is conducted in both public and higher education.
