Research Methods in English elective course

This course equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to design educational research in English. It  provides an introduction to the principles of scientific thinking and the foundations of pedagogical research, from formulating questions and hypotheses to collecting, analysing, and presenting data. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches are explored, with attention to practical methods such as interviews, questionnaires, observations, and document analysis. Students will also learn how to conduct literature reviews, apply ethical standards, and use academic writing conventions, including APA 7 referencing and plagiarism avoidance. The course not only prepares students for their thesis work but also lays the groundwork for future academic and professional research, fostering critical thinking, ethical awareness, and reflective practice.
