The traditional Christmas concert of ELTE TÓK will take place again this year.

On Thursday 12 December at 16:00, the Faculty of Teacher Education and Early Childhood Education of ELTE organises a Christmas concert in the Ceremonial Hall (room 200, 2nd floor).

PROGRAMME:

Mixed chamber choir:

  • Georg Friedrich Händel: Christmas Carol - Rejoice, O World!
  • John Francis Wade: Adeste fideles - Come, O ye faithful - Christmas Carol
  • László Rezessy: Whom many a happy shepherd has praised - Hungarian polyphonic setting of a 14th century song (Quem pastores laudavere)
  • Lajos Bárdos: Well, my soul! - 18th century arrangement of a church song
  • Marc-Antoine Charpentier: Te Deum - excerpt in a mixed chorus arrangement in Hungarian

Solo folk song:

  • Kinga Mátyus, student of a kindergarten teacher, sings Christmas folk songs

 

Flute solo:

  • Christmas Cradle Song; When the Virgin Wraps It Up - Christmas folk songs arranged by Ferenc Farkas: sung by Zsófia Bíró (second year kindergarten student)

  • XVI-XVII century flower: The High Rock, arranged by Pál Járdányi (sung by Ida Schwarcz)
  • Johann Sebastian Bach: Sprich ja zu meinen Taten - chorale from Cantata 194
  • Béborúla, már elmula by Aurél Kern (sung by Balázs Petrecz)
  • Zöld erdőben - Transylvanian folk song from the collection of folk songs by István Bartalus, arranged by Aurél Kern (sung by Virág Verseghi-Nagy)
  • Ablakomba, ablakomba - Hungarian folk song by Béla Bartók (sung by Zsófia Szigeti)
  • Lement a nap - Hungarian folk song by Jenő Ádám (sung by Lenke Sass)
