The New Academic Year has started at ELTE TÓK!
On the 7th of September, the opening ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic year was held at the Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE TÓK).
This year, a particularly large number of international students have chosen to attend the English-language Kindergarten BA programme (abbreviated: KIDE) at the Faculty. Our new class of first-year students includes students from the United States, China, Iran and the Netherlands.
Our most recent class was first welcomed by Deputy Dean Dr. András Lénárd. The new academic year was officially opened by Dean Dr. habil. Éva Márkus who, in her speech, recommended that all students make use of the many opportunities offered by the Faculty, such as the free access to sports, language learning, or participation in Faculty research projects, Erasmus+ mobility scholarships and international training programmes.
At the ceremony, all students took a solemn oath, with the international students making their pledge in English. Then Dean Éva Márkus shook hands with the first-year students as a symbol of their admission to ELTE as university citizens and welcomed them in English.
Following the oath, the President of the Student Self-Government, Milán Takaró, welcomed the first-year students and the Dean of the Faculty presented honorary jubilee diplomas to teachers who had graduated from our Faculty 50 or 65 years ago.
We wish all our students the best of luck in their studies and look forward to spending the next three years with them!
