PED Talk International

Do you know TEDx? People from all around the world who like to think and want to make you think about important questions share their thoughts in 8-15 minutes to present a problem and make the world a better place by this.
Do you have something to say about pedagogy as well? Do you think about problems in education? Would you like to share your experience? If so, apply for the first-ever TED-TALK organised by ELTE TÓK called PED-TALK!
How can you give a presentation?
There are two ways:
- In person on 2nd May 2023 at 2 pm at ELTE TÓK in the PANOPTO room
- With a pre-recorded video with a maximum length of 8 minutes (deadline is 24th April)
Differences compared to a TED event:
- You may give a presentation in pairs.
- One person of the pair must be a student, an instructor or a work associate at ELTE TÓK (for example, student and student, instructor and student, student and student’s friend/partner/child).
What should the presentation be like?
- The goal is to make the audience think and share a positive message. Something like this
- The maximum length is 8 minutes.
- It should be an ad-lib speech instead of reading out.
- If it is pre-recorded, have a neutral background (single-coloured wall, curtain, board, etc.), please. A room for recording could be provided at the university if needed.
- The content must match the scientific ethics and human rights norms. The content cannot violate anyone's rights and it cannot contain any negative, offensive statement towards a person, gender, religion, political party, etc.
The deadline for application
Until 25th April 2023 at this link.
Please include the name(s) of the presenter(s), an introduction for each presenter with a maximum length of 500 characters (with two presenters it is 2×500 characters), a summary of the presentation with a maximum length of 500 characters, and an ID-picture-like photo of each presenter.
