Invitation to the conference
For the second time, Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education, and the MTA-ELTE Environmental Knowledge Teaching Research Group are inviting early childhood educators, kindergarten pedagogues, primary and secondary school teachers, as well as higher education professionals for this conference with the topic of sustainability education.

The main topics of the conference:
- sustainability education in the nursery school

- sustainability education located in places outside of kindergarten and school
- integrated teaching of environmental knowledge content in the first two grades of primary schools
Among the key topics of the conference, in addition to sustainability education, we included the changes in the teaching of the subject of environmental studies related to the introduction of NAT2020. One of the significant changes related to this is that in the first two grades of primary schools, the acquisition of natural science knowledge must not be carried out in a separate lesson, but integrated into other subjects. The MTA-ELTE Environmental Knowledge Teaching Research Group was established in 2021 to research this process and search for the best practices. In addition to the results of the Research Group, we also want to present as many good practices as possible on the part of the participants of the conference and start a discourse on the experiences so far and the possibilities of future steps.
At the conference, lectures and posters can be presented in Hungarian and English. Participants, as first authors, may submit a maximum of 1 presentation and 1 poster presentation abstract at the same time at the application. Conference presentations are 10 minutes long, followed by a 5-minute discussion.
Upon request, we will issue a certificate of participation at the conference. Participation at the conference is subject to § 5 § 3. of Government Decree - 93/2009 (IV.22.) Based on point d), 5 hours can be counted in the 120-hour teacher training course.
Important dates:
- Application and abstract submission deadline: June 30, 2023 (Friday).
- Deadline for payment of the participation fee: August 22, 2023 (Tuesday).
All applicants will be notified of the acceptance of applications and summaries, as well as the final program of the conference, by July 30, 2023, via the e-mail address indicated by them. The summaries are published in an electronic abstract volume with an ISBN number.
The fee for participation at the conference is HUF 10,000, which includes lunch, a buffet, the abstract volume on a pen drive and the program.
