Preserving Online Good Practices in the Classroom 

Introducing online teaching posed a great challenge to both teachers and students. Like all other changes, we did our best to solve this situation together. For teachers, we suddenly needed to catch up with the needs of a younger generation. As a result of this mutual effort, we used numerous interfaces that we then continue to use in the course of our in-person teaching. I would like to share some of these with you.

Sprachförderung durch Bilderbücher in der Primarstufe – auch digital?!

Möglichkeiten von digitalen Bilderbüchern am Beispiel von Onilo®

Sprachunterricht lebt von Interaktion und sprachlichem Handeln. Bilderbücher bieten eine großartige Grundlage, um Kindern bildgestützt authentische Sprache zu präsentieren und sie zum sprachlichen Handeln zu bewegen. Während viele Lehrkräfte schon regelmäßig mit Kinderliteratur arbeiten, sind digitale Bilderbücher – sogenannte „Boardstories” – für Viele noch unbekannt. Sie können sowohl im Präsenzunterricht als auch in digitalen Lernumgebungen eingesetzt werden. Im Workshop wollen wir erkunden, welche Möglichkeiten digitale Bilderbücher bieten und es werden einige konkrete Beispiele mit Möglichkeiten der Didaktisierung vorgestellt sowie konkrete methodische Tipps besprochen.

Using Indigenous Legends for Integrative Learning: Sky Woman Falling Meets the Internet

This lecture explores ways to integrate the Native American origin myth, “Sky Woman Falling,” into science, literature, English-language and civilization lessons for young learners, ages 8-10 in a way that introduces the basics of digital research.This exercise begins by examining a few versions of the myth to sensitize educators to the need to demonstrate care in choosing a work from a less familiar culture. Following this discussion, an excerpt from the Disney cartoon, Peter Pan, will display how stereotypes are promoted in early childhood. The lecture then ends with a selection of good practices for having learners use the Internet to research and create activities for understanding the world through the lens of “Sky Woman Falling.”

Im Workshop/ Beitrag werden bewährte Verfahrensweisen aus der Praxis im Minderheitenunterricht der Primarstufe angeführt. Der Fokus der Best-Practice-Beispiele liegt auf kinderliterarischen Texten und grammatischen Inhalten, sowie auf  Wortschatzerweiterungsmöglichkeiten.

Digital storytelling to help inclusion

In this presentation participants will learn about a digital storytelling application aimed at developing inclusiveness in the classroom community. The application and the teacher training material was created by a team of Catalonian, Hungarian, Italian and Ukrainian primary teachers and teacher trainer as an Erasmus+ project.
